Drone Arcade is a bloody arcade shooter. Features all of my own graphics, different enemies and power ups.

Power ups include the sniper, laser beam, and super shotgun. All of which have awesome and different firepower. Each power up lasts about 5 seconds. Enemies include the normal (green) zombie, and the fast (red) zombie. Each with their own animations. This is an endless shooter that gets harder as time goes on.

Pretty solid update, I'd say.

The game actually has a menu now. Doesn't do much yet.

The Sniper now has its own unique sound when it's used, as well as the Laser.

Added the Flamer, a slow yet powerful short-ranged weapon.

The Super Shotgun acts more like a shotgun instead of an OP machine gun.

Little late to your comment. I actually really wanted to have harder monsters/enemies however they only way to do that is to give them health bars. I don't see how else I can make them take more than one hit before dying. The only problem is being able to constantly spawn the enemies with working health bars attached to them, which I couldn't figure out how to do. I might've made that sound too confusing.

They don't need health bars. When you shoot them once, they change red and activate a new chain. Then you shoot them twice. You could do that 3 or 4 times each as well.

Cool game, what about you add grenades? They could blow into a small area and you could get them by dead zombies OBS:. No they dont remove the machine gun, its like a "secundary" weapon

Great game, I had a lot of fun! I really like the style and feel.

Few suggestions:

  • some sort of pixelated flame thrower gun.. This would be a lot of fun 😃, burning all the pixelated enemies.

  • a rocket/grenade? Explosions are always fun. You can use the repel behaviour to make every thing around it go flying.

  • when the player dies make it more exciting. Playing the game to live as long as possible should be the players goal, but it's still pretty enjoyable to see a fun losing scenario.

  • make the weapons feels more powerful. Give the, some muzzle flashes (white graphic appear on tip of gun for split second), screen shakes, and sounds.

All of your suggestions sound awesome, and I'll definitely implement them! I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to make the game more difficult over time. Could I somehow spawn bigger enemies with individual health bars?

Make the enemies start shooting back at you. Land mines, kamakziee enemies that blow up after killing rhem. Turrets that shoot back. Just randomly add these kind of things as the waves go up

I progressed through the waves fairly quickly, but wave 7 seemed to take forever, and I didnt get passed it cuz thats around the time the zombies got me!

I don't like this game. It's to ordinary. Nothing special and interesting. Sorry, 54rush. But you should make your game unique: for now it's features,are only character and enemy graphics..

Will things like backgrounds, sounds, maps, and more characters do the trick? This is supposed to be an arcade shooter. There are many of its kind. The unique thing about the game was supposed to be the pixel animations and graphics. It's the first animated arcade shooter that I know of on HyperPad. But otherwise, right now it's very plain.

Not any more! Space Shooter exists too now, although it has this terribly invincible bug that causes the game to get laggier and laggier as you keep playing, even though there aren't any more enemies. Tried bug spray and everything, even stomping it didn't work. Lol these delayed responses...

I gave up on Space Shooter ages ago because I spent weeks trying to make it stop getting laggy over time and I couldn't stop it, because of that I never got to build it up to what it was like in GamePress. The same bug was there in GamePress but I just made it detect lag and restart the scene whenever there was lag, was quite annoying.

Wow. It sounds like a problem that is impossible to fix... iPads can't handle too much heat I guess. Does it only get laggy when there are too many enemies?

I tested it over and over, it doesn't get laggy because there are too many enemies, it gets laggy because too many objects have spawned and for some reason even after they are destroyed they still take up memory, depending on what behaviours are in them. For example, if you have a shoot with bullet behaviour inside an object, and spawn that object on a timer (making sure it also gets destroyed) and turn FPS on, you will notice over time it gets laggy. Remove that shoot with bullet behaviour and the lag doesn't come.

I don't need to recycle them because they delete themselves, I'm pretty sure I've tried it, one day I'll probably have another look at it and spend a few weeks trying to reduce lag lol
