Why isn't it on the app store anymore?

December 25, 2017

Sorry @Tom , lost interest in this project I’ll release it again on the App Store once I finish building more projects

December 25, 2017

Nice, Merry Christmas!

October 22, 2016

How do you do high scores?

August 29, 2016

For the shop how did you make the scrolling

September 07, 2016

@Wazk Gaming and Technology ,The version uploaded to hyperPad is not working for me, it is not simple I over complicated what was suppose to be a simple "scroll", If i were you I'd look for a different type of scroll unless you are willing to have around 300? behaviors.

May 01, 2016

How's this game doing? Are you working on anything right now?

May 01, 2016

@Mlkpad14 Good I'm working on something but it's a secret since it is on the hyperPad beta.

April 30, 2016

How u make a highscore? plz tell me!

April 30, 2016

I will try to make a tutorial on YouTube and use the sample to send it to people who need it. Ill make a high score, recent score, and total points tutorial.

April 30, 2016

@djees

April 30, 2016

Thx im subscriped u on youtube so i know if u uploaded a tutorial

May 16, 2016

@djees I created the example but I'm having trouble with the recorder on my iPad I have a link that will last for 7 days feel free to download it. The project contains how to save high score, recent score, and total points http://bit.ly/1stsdSA

May 18, 2016

thx!

April 26, 2016

I made a video of this game click the link below Link: https://youtu.be/_dX_uGRg5_c

April 03, 2016

So I was looking at your ranking and orb smash was rank 140 strategy game in Egypt Lol

How many downloads have you gotten? It seems like it's doing pretty good!

April 03, 2016

Thats cool, honestly I don't think I'm looking at the correct numbers. I'm using the app iTunes connect

April 04, 2016

Check out https://www.appannie.com/ that's what I use to check my ranking and keyword stuff!

Also you might want to put slither.io and miitomo in your keywords! They are trending and they only have 2 apps in that search! (One is mine, I'm super exited lol)

March 21, 2016

are you doing better with downloads now?

March 29, 2016

Good, I've also started telling more people to download it.

March 14, 2016

I left you a 5 start review! How are downloads coming?

March 14, 2016

*coming along

March 14, 2016

@JackJack Digital Thanks, not so good only 15 downloads. Many of the people I know don't have iPads only iPhones I am sure I could do 100% better on iphone, but I'll have to wait for now. I also did contact many forums/pages on sites that showcase and review new games but they expensive...

March 14, 2016

Better than me I think i got 11 on my first day... Then 10.. Then the next for days like 2..... But the last 4 days I've been averaging about 50-60 a day, when you get more downloads you move up in the search results so you keep getting more and more each day ( which your app is way better than mine so it might get featured once you get it out for iPhone) your game is better than 90% of the featured games!

March 15, 2016

Sites that make you pay for reviews are often not that great. You need to try and contact certain bloggers and sites directly. For example, touch arcad, you can try submitting a tip right on their site but that's unlikely to get you anywhere. What you can try instead is finding a contributor/writer contact info (email, Twitter etc). Then reaching out directly with a story that is appealing to them.

Most of the bloggers have their contact info public so it shouldn't be too hard to find them. It also helps to engage with them a bit, before asking to review your game or write about it.

There are a few angles you can take, currently with a lot of stuff happening with the iPad pro, you can use that to your advantage. Get bloggers interested in writing an article not in your game, but how you used an iPad for development... It's sort of a big deal to not use a computer at all! Them writing about that could bring attention to your game.

Then there are gaming communities you can post on. Reddit.com has a few really popular communities (subreddits). If you can get a few people interested there then you also increase the chance at getting more downloads.

I always say, making the game is the easy part. Getting people to play it and download it is the hard part!

Orb Smash is out on the App Store!!! Orb Smash by Abelardo Gonzalez https://appsto.re/us/rKn9ab.i

March 13, 2016

Left you a nice review and a 5 star rating! You should update the game onto the new section of the hub so that people know it's on the App Store. Call it Orb Smash on the App Store, or something like that.

March 14, 2016

@Mlkpad14 thanks, I'll probably wait until I have something new on the game so it won't look like I'm posting just to spam.

March 04, 2016

Have you submitted it yet?

March 04, 2016

It is ready to submit but I'm testing on TestFlight to see if everything works properly.

March 04, 2016

@JackJack Digital now it's all up to Apple, I'm so excited!

March 05, 2016

Awsome! I write you a review when it's up, my review process took about 8 days, then it changes to "in review" after that it was up for sale within a few hours

March 05, 2016

@abel I'll leave you a good review and a nice rating too.

March 05, 2016

Thank you for the support @Mlkpad14 @JackJack Digital

March 05, 2016

Glad to help!

March 01, 2016

It all looks good. What happens when it gets submitted? Does someone review it? Do Apple Store editors review the game and decide to put it onto "Featured?" Featured is a section in the App Store where all of the best latest games and apps are released.

March 01, 2016

Yes, once it is submitted Apple inspects it to see if it violates any their terms, it could take 1-3 weeks. I am not so sure what is required to get featured but recently many new indie developers have had their games/apps featured. I'm sure this game will most likely not get featured because of sounds, but that would be awesome!

March 01, 2016

Cool, I hope it goes far. Good luck.

March 01, 2016

What are indie developers?

March 01, 2016

@iSmart games The correct term is individual or small group of developers.

March 01, 2016

It stands for independent developer. Developers who create games by themselves.

March 01, 2016

Oh ok!

February 29, 2016

For some reason I can't get a skin. I got the 600 gem prize but cannot get the ninja.

February 29, 2016

oops sorry I just saw the comment saying why

February 29, 2016

That bug should've been fixed on the 1.5 update, does it say unlocked or not enough? I'll continue to test.

February 29, 2016

I have enough but it is not unlocking.

February 29, 2016

@Exorcius hopefully this update fixed it

February 26, 2016

When will you publish it to the AppStore? I just published my game "Flip" I'm just waiting for them to review it

February 26, 2016

Cool I'll download it, and before this coming Thursday mine should be submitted for review.

February 26, 2016

If you need any help with publishing just message me! When you first do it it's super confusing.... It took me over 15 hours to do it........

March 01, 2016

@JackJack Digital assuming you used iAd what do they need for banking? Could I use the my cards/banks that are on iTunes? I went through the process of accepting the terms but now I dont know what to do... Apple has confusing links that lead back to iTunes connect or iAds setup like a loophole, it's annoying.

March 06, 2016

Oh don't use iad

March 06, 2016

Apple shut down iAd , that's why my ads arnt working, I'm switching to admob

February 25, 2016

Apparently I set a 0 to 1 which ruined the purchase system of the ninja, I'll submit a fix later today.

February 20, 2016

Easters coming up, how about some Easter themed stuff to take advantage of that?

February 21, 2016

@Murtaza I failed at creating Easter skins

February 25, 2016

Make the paddle a bunny.. The balls into various striped eggs. Done. Easy seater theme that you can use as a marketing strategy when you're live in the App Store ;).

February 25, 2016

Or an easter basket instead of a bunny!

February 25, 2016

Ok, I'll try that instead my bunny looked weird almost laughable. Lol

February 20, 2016

I love how this is progressing so quickly! :)

I think that you shouldn't just add skins for money, but that you should be able to upgrade the actor or player too. Some upgrades that you can add would be like speed, chances, and other things like opposite mode or a different hard mode.

I know you're interested in different ideas for skins: -i think you should disown the pencil. It doesn't fit. -make simple dotted, lined, and patterned platforms that're cheaper. -and include symbolic ones like the ones you've had since the beginning. I like the shark one a lot. You could make like a monster one, an alien one, a tarantula one and other dark themed ones that would look just as good in black and white as in color: and maybe better.

Well good luck! I think that this is truly a fit for the App Stores miracle games.

February 20, 2016

@Mlkpad14, those are some great ideas for upgrades, but I'll probably have them for a second update. I have limited time to finish and submit it to Apple. Also I'll change the pencil to something else, thanks for the feedback.

February 20, 2016

Make sure you do a lot of reasearch on key words cause that will make or break your app

February 20, 2016

@JackJack Digital, thanks that's a good tip I wasn't even thinking about that.

February 08, 2016

Any suggestions for skins? Something that will fit in the white paddle and that could be colorful or detailed.

February 20, 2016

Make a striped one! Also I use sensor tower to look at key words and you can check what key words other apps use!

February 21, 2016

What exactly do you mean by striped? Color stripes?

I've created a ninja and a bird so far, they are overused skins/characters but it was easy and they look good.

February 22, 2016

Yea like color spripe

January 24, 2016

Wow. This is a great example of how to make a shop. And it saves your points when you quit (yay!) I do agree that there is not enough incentive to keep playing when you can just restart so easily. Maybe make the amount of points earned when you smash an orb increase by a small percent every time so the longer streak you have the more money you make.

January 26, 2016

@RyanAndChad I'll think about ideas to keep the game interesting, sometimes games become addicting due to trying to beat others high scores or simple/small objectives but I haven't come up with something yet. Also I am missing a confirm button for purchased currently as soon as the skin is selected it is a purchased unless you don't have enough points. I rushed the update missing several details I had planned to add.

February 08, 2016

@Abel I just had a cool idea. You could make like an achievements section and come up with different achievements you complete when you reach different scores and score different combos. Then, you could make a system based off of the number or quality of your achievements.

February 08, 2016

I have something simple set up it is a 1-3 star rating if you get at least a two you could unlock different levels. I am planning to create simple yet detailed levels, they will be different backgrounds, orb skins, and possibly different but similar game modes. I would like to make it interesting but difficult enough to for the player to keep coming back to try and pass it. But this will take me a while I want the levels to look appealing while matching the rest of the game.

February 08, 2016

Oh that's cool. I'll be waiting then. I'm definitely a fan :)

January 24, 2016

I Forgot to mention, are the skins locked? Shaded and not selectable until purchased. It was working perfect but after all the changes I could have moved something.

January 24, 2016

everything was locked for me (grey). I was too poor to actually unlock anything, so I don't know if the unlock works.

January 26, 2016

For me it locked.

January 24, 2016

Nice update :) wasn't there sounds before when you hit the balls? This is a really polished game, and I can definitely see it in the App Store :)

Some suggestions/feedback:

  • I don't like is when you get the red orb, you lose, but you don't know you lost. It almost gives a false sense of you still have a chance. When the white orbs go grey, I feel like I can still pick them up.. But I can't. And I just lose. Maybe make this whole part a bit more clear?
  • The shaker prize thing stole all my money! Ok, not really. I was stupid enough to spend it all thinking I could win big. I think the price to play is too expensive, especially considering that the prizes are always way less. Also, it's not very clear that I spent my own points until after everything is done. So I just kept on spending. Maybe make some sounds, and some clear indication that my points are being spent. (maybe a cool animation of my points going into the machine?)
  • The ads are fine for the player.. Not too annoying and leaves it up to them to play them. But in reality, people won't tap it. You need to make it more in your face. When you tap close, you should tell them they earned something. Also, some other games do this and it seems to work.. When you're on a streak and lose, give them the option to continue if they watch an ad.
  • When you beat your high score, make it feel more awesome.
  • Overall, there isn't enough consequences for losing. I end up playing just to collect points, but really I don't feel the need to survive longer. I can just lose and try again and get more points. There is nothing to keep me to play longer, and to avoid losing.

January 24, 2016

Thanks, everytime you post I get so many ideas. For sounds it will take me a while I want them to flow perfectly with the game, I left the ones it had just for now. I have some ideas that came to mind that could spark the ending by showing a sign of being rewarded. Ads for hyperPad won't be so bad I have other plans for the AppStore published version where they popup in the ending by a percentage and maybe a banner in the home screen. And sorry for the machine I did set it to have a higher percentage of winning a small amount, I didn't want everyone to win big every time. But I did notice the purchase being a problem. I'll get fixing thanks for the suggestions!

July 28, 2016

Maybe to prevent somebody from accepting a loss, you can add a multiplier that increases a little bit the longer you survive. Could that work?

January 24, 2016

Wow, really nice update. Are you publishing this to the App Store? I mean you're making money with the ads already but only so many people play it on Hyperpad.

January 24, 2016

Thanks, that's the plan and I'm just testing the ads to see how that works it's all new to me.

January 24, 2016

Ok, just wondering. Hey, you liked my game earlier. I know this is off topic but it would really be helpful if you gave me some feedback, especially since you're probably one of the more experienced people on Hyperpad. I haven't gotten any good feedback yet :(

December 24, 2015

Question: How come the platform goes out of the screen for such a long time before getting bigger? It's supposed to get bigger, right? Love the idea, and gameplay, but this glitch is really frequent and it takes away from the fun.

December 24, 2015

Yes I am very sorry, this is the very first version that I created. The most recent version I have is a lot better the platform bounces off the wall and all the gamplay is finished. Also some skins where added and now I'm adding an orb machine (gumball machine) to get random/free coins or skins. The only reason I haven't released it is because the fixed version is on the hyperPad beta, hopefully we will get that soon.

Here is a link to a page where I post screenshots or pictures of what I am working on, so you can get an idea of what it should look like once released. https://www.facebook.com/Abels-games-774496945945421/

December 02, 2015

Hard and fun . Someone looking for a hard game

November 13, 2015

Nice! Simple and addictive. Like @Andrew Ghost said, you should add some music. A good way of making your own music would be garage band. Good luck!

November 11, 2015

Hey man! I have an idea. While playing this game I found that sounds sound like some part of music. I think you should add music, and try to make a beat. For example, calculate time between player's board(?) and white ball colliding and write music with this beat. I know this is hard, but it would be AWESOOOMEE!! There are a lot of music programms like Music Studio, or Novation Laucnpad (But Novation L. Is pretty limited)

November 11, 2015

I have tried making music but has ended in a disaster, I wouldn't want to destroy people's hearing 😄 but I'll keep trying

November 12, 2015

There are some really good royalty free music sites out there that have some decent tracks you can use with out paying any thing. Just search google for Royalty Free Music.

In the past we have used some stuff created by a guy name Kevin Macleod. He has A LOT of free music ranging in a wide variety of styles. Here is his site: http://incompetech.com/

November 09, 2015

Might be the best game on here! It truly looks like a finished project! There is a bug when you switch direction when halfway on the screen though. Maybe have it detect if the center point of the paddle hits the edge instead of the whole paddle if possible. Looks very nice! Would you consider a background that changes color each round?

November 09, 2015

Thanks, yes it is a bug the Murtaza said they will take a look at it hopefully fixed in the next updates. And sure I'll have the background change in the next update along with some fixes.

November 09, 2015

The graphics are so refined. I love it.

November 09, 2015

Thanks, they are pretty easy to make, I used the shapes, pen, and mirror on the sketch club app.

November 09, 2015

I like the new update. The particles and sounds really add to it! I don't notice the slow motion when you lose too much. I notice the bug when the paddle goes off screen, sometimes it takes a while to come back or it just goes away for ever. But pretty sure this is something on our end that will be fixed in 1.12.

In the meantime, what you can do is put a timer that keeps track of the paddles position. The moment it goes off screen, teleport it to the opposite side. Basically, you would need to make your own wrap around screen.

November 09, 2015

Whoops, I added the longer slow motion on my iPad mini and not here it is suppose to finish the red explosing particles then the "Game Over" scene. As far as the wrap around I'll see what can be done as a temporary fix, hopefully the timers lag is not noticeable.

November 07, 2015

Sound would definitely improve the game.

November 07, 2015

Cool game so far! Excellent level of polish. Like Aidan, I was also a bit confused with the wrap around screen. But once I got the hang of it there wasn't too much of an issue. I like how the paddle gets bigger with each miss.

One thing for me: It just didn't feel satisfying hitting the balls. Make me want to hit them. Add sounds, particles, screen shake.. effects! There's actually a great talk on this topic done at a game developer conference. Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg I think applying some of their concepts will be a great addition.

November 07, 2015

Sorry about that Murtaza, I get too exited 🙂 I have a lot more planned but wanted to get feedback from the community

November 07, 2015

Yeah I figured that's the case, it's a good idea to use the hub to great feedback. That video I linked is still a great resource for anyone looking for simple ideas to spruce up their games.

November 07, 2015

@Murtaza thank you for sharing the video, it gave me some great ideas

November 06, 2015

Cool. Maybe make the white block stop when it hits the edge or bounce off it, I don't know why but I get confused when it wraps around the screen and I lose 😝.

November 07, 2015

There is a bug with that, I'm currently testing to see what works best. I would like to have a smooth transition when entering one side and coming out the other side, but no luck so far.
