*Just a little warning*
• This project contains huge amount of objects and may lag low-end devices. (Even though I optimized it as much as possible.)
• Lag spikes are fixed, but the framerate does not stay consistent and sometimes lerk in lower numbers.
And yey! It's here?
Well, just a tiny beta release for some to test.
Lots of features are missing and some current mechanics may be unstable, (very glitchy and unexpected) comment below if you find any game-breaking glitches.
----------------------
Current Idea:
• Find and open chests to gather weapons and materials.
• Monsters only spawn at NIGHT.

----------------------
Some Game features:
• 6 weapon types
• Chests with random loot
• Day/night cycle
• Realistic nature scenery
• Lots of visual and auditory fx for experience

April 27, 2021
For me your games never lags mybe its because im using a ipad pro
September 16, 2018
Nice game. Fun and polished. Like your paralax scrolling backgrounds.
September 17, 2018
Yeah thanks! But I'm probably not gonna work on it anymore since it's laggy on many devices, although I am making a game with similiar style so it won't be much of an issue. :)

Um how do u craft things after u get the crafting table and also when u load the game it says get materials using your axe. How do u get ur axe. Great game otherwise just try to improve on the help menu and the gun switching glitch.

So smooth and professional!
Criticisms:
I’m not a big fan of the bullet controls. The enemies always wipe me out as soon as they appear out of the dark. I like the joystick for the shooting, I just think it needs to come out faster in all directions.
Maybe a randomly generated terrain, or 1 / 10 landscapes to keep things interesting. I know it’s coming but more crafting as well.
But seriously, awesome job! So much polish!
August 27, 2018
Thank you so much! Randomized Terrain sounds interesting and cool, I'll try to find a way for that to happen. :)
August 15, 2018
The game couldn't run faster than 5 FPS on my iPad but I still like it :}
August 17, 2018
I need to make a very simple game, yet very complex and not laggy. :/
August 13, 2018
I’m amazed about how much this project has developed and improved overtime, this is really impressive. Only bug I found is when I swapped to my pistol, for some reason it kept firing rockets from the RPG Launcher. The map is huge and it’s awesome, and though I haven’t made it past the first night I am super impressed. Keep up the good work! :D
August 13, 2018
Thanks! Gotta fix the weapon thing then
August 09, 2018
Huge lag every time I fire weapon, as in drops down to about 2FPS as long as I'm holding shoot on my gun. This is on iPad Air. Sound effects make me feel like I'm playing Terraria 😛
August 09, 2018
I had that issue too... But it didn't happen at first, it just gets laggier the more you use it... Seems like a memory leak...?
August 09, 2018
All of the lag is fixed besides the constant shooting of the gun.... Weird...
August 09, 2018
I've been trying to find a way to make it lag less or to get the lag off completely. Been trying for hours, yet got any better results... :/
August 09, 2018
What does your joystick do while the user holds it?? Holding joystick lags, even when reloading and not firing bullets, so it's not even the bullets causing lag lol, just holding the joystick. If I spam tap the joystick about as fast as the gun shoots, lag is much less.
August 09, 2018
Branched it to try see what was happening (idk how you work with that mess in the joystick 😂), you do have a LOT of objects, like each piece of grass is it's own object, each tree is 2-5 objects, that definitely adds to the lag. I would've tried to make one object per tree, and one object being a long line of grass and other things like that, any way possible to reduce the amount of objects. I would rather have a long download of lots of different versions of trees than a short download laggy game. Also there's only one scene and everything in there already loaded once the game finishes loading on hyperPad load screen, meaning the extra load screens have to be fake 😐. Why make people wait for nothing?
August 09, 2018
I mean, I know it's not loading, but it is doing something. It's just resetting objects and deleting unneeded objects, doing all the objects at once cause lag, so I delay it. (Not the grass, or scenery objects.) And the joystick... The Joystick Analog behavior constantly executes multiple behaviors, and I found this out in some of my other projects aswell, it causes lag..
Just the joystick analog behavior and some behaviors causes lag... Maybe I need to use an another behavior, but I need to find a way for the User to aim their weapon..
August 10, 2018
I'm experiencing this too.
July 31, 2018
I have commented before. I've been playing the game for about an hour now, and it gets very boring. The game itself is really cool! But there's just no variety. What bothers me the most is that the "level" is very small! It would be a lot of fun if you could explore a little bit! But the game itself is cool! :)
August 01, 2018
Yeah, I need to add some exploration and diversity. :) I will make the level larger, possibly could add events and a backstory. :D
If you haven't noticed, you were put in the credits in this update!
July 28, 2018
Hey, do you think it’s possible to add like a co-op mode with other people or bots or something where you have to work together to survive? Also, I like the pet idea.
July 28, 2018
I can add those, it'll take a while to program them. :) I'm not sure about multiplayer, but if I know how, I can create real-time multiplayer.
Thank you for the feedback.
July 20, 2018
The landscape needs to be a little bigger so I can avoid getting hurt by enemies a lot. Also, is it possible to have allies like pets that will help you out?
July 20, 2018
Oh yeah, I can potentially add powerups you get after gaining a certain amount of points. :)
I will adjust the screen to give it more visibility, thank you!
July 22, 2018
I have an idea for a pet and/or possible enemy It's a tadpole creature that flies around with a water bubble surrounding it. Here's what it looks like: https://orig00.deviantart.net/516c/f/2018/203/7/6/image_by_jason5432-dchz8im.png
July 24, 2018
Ooo! Cool! I can just make it animate in a swimming state and it'll be added to the game. :D
July 24, 2018
Great! You can use this green variant as an enemy if you want: https://orig00.deviantart.net/282f/f/2018/205/9/a/image_by_jason5432-dci601z.png
July 28, 2018
So I have another question. You said that you would have to animate it but how do you make animations out of one object? I have all of these characters without animations so how do I make animations for them?
July 28, 2018
I use photoshop and pixel art creator.
Photoshop to erase the background for the object, pixel art to change the graphic slighty to animate it. :3
July 17, 2018
You should make the moths smaller (like the leaves) because they scared me at first and I tried to shoot them. They they didn’t bother me just flew to my head. Unless they are made to harm u make them smaller. It’s said thier was crafting but i didn’t find any crafting. And I can’t use the bricks or wood. But the graphics and polish is amazing.
July 17, 2018
Yeah, they were supposed to harm you. I didn't add Health or Shields, and I didn't add crafting yet. I am working on these features, thanks for the feedback!
July 19, 2018
Health is now implemented. And monsters attack you now. :)
July 09, 2018
Very cool! Good job!
July 09, 2018
Thanks! Took a while... Still fixing some lag and making the game more enjoyable.
July 06, 2018
Sadly cannot play the game for now, just wanna say that you should keep all objects have same pixel size, i mean, from screenshots it's seen that player's sprite and tree sprite sizes don't seem in harmony, coz tree pixels are bigger. So tree resolution should be bigger. Please don't think i'm carping, it's just what i saw from the screenshots. I really wish i could play the game now, it looks awesome.
July 06, 2018
Hmmm... I might make trees more detailed, it's going to take a while since I'm never done this type of detailing before, it will take some brain power and learning. :)
July 03, 2018
This is great! Runs smoothly on my test device iPad Air 1. Excellent polish, and the controls are really good. It "feels" fun to play, just needs monsters :). I really like how each gun feels different, animations, the smooth "sucking" animation when collecting objects. Overall great polish, and well on your way on nailing "Game feel".
Couple of suggestions I had: 1) when you open a crate, you need to tap the word open. (or at least it feels this way?) I'd make it so you can tap the crate it self (but keep the "Open" text) 2) When the contents of the crate spill out, I'd put a similar hint to the crate "open" saying to tap the items to collect them. My first instinct was to just walk on them.
July 03, 2018
Oh and the day/night transition was a nice touch too! Maybe make the other textures darker too? Try using the set colour behaviour (on a tag) and use a darker tint. This way you can darken everything as it becomes night time.
July 04, 2018
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback and support, I will work on these things for the upcoming update. Without your feedback, I wouldn't know what to do. :)
And pretty suprised the optimization mechanic actually held very well, nobody seems to have any framerate issues! :D
July 03, 2018
No monsters spawned other than a white bot that said "insert monster here".
July 03, 2018
Yeah... :3
July 03, 2018
Thats great!
July 03, 2018
I'm glad you like it! If it is very smooth, I'm suprised Hyperpad is very optimized.
